It’s been a long road to this moment. Deciding which trailer to purchase for my future home has not been easy. Or fast. I have so much to say and share about this decision, but it’s still so new my brain and my heart are still getting used to the idea. This post will be my shortest one yet. I am only imparting one little bit of information. And the winner is…
Oliver Travel Trailer Legacy II
If you are wondering how I got to this place, following these links for the history of my rig decision. It was a long and windy road, but i feel confident in my final decision.
- When there is every rig as a possible future home, how do you start narrowing it down? For me, the very first decision I made was to go with a molded fiberglass trailer. Here is how I did it: An Egg and a Funnel: Making the First RV Decision.
- I wrote of narrowing it down to my top choices in The Matrix: Deciding on the Right Fiberglass Trailer.
- I reviewed my final four rig choices in three parts: Part One, Part Two and Part Three. The Oliver was included in Part Two.
- Finally, during a trip to the Tampa RV SuperShow, I made a side trip to tour the Oliver Factory.
Then a few days ago, I wrote a check for the deposit. My custom-built new home starts down the production line on May 29, 2017!
Congratulations!!!
How are you feeling?
It has to be a burden lifted from your mind in the steps to your new life.

An outstanding choice Debbie. Congrats on your selection and all the best as your adventure begins to unfold.
My wife and I have been planning to fulltime for about 3 years now. We expect to launch in September 2019. To that end, we purchased our first RV in July, 2015 — a Scamp fifth wheel. It is a great fit for our older truck and offered adequate space for our “training wheels.” And, the permanent bed was a huge deciding factor as well. We have had nothing but great trips in it since the purchase.
Having become fiberglass groupies, we have been eyeing Olivers for quite some time now. However, we are of the belief it just won’t be practical for us as a full time rig, although we have yet to rule it out completely. It is unquestionably a well-made and quality fiberglass trailer — clearly the top in its class.
Now that you have pulled the trigger on an Oliver, we will be especially interested in following your thoughts on how the trailer performs during your fulltime travels.
Once again, best of luck!!
Congratulations! It’s all so exciting. I seriously looked at a Scamp. So glad you are enjoying it. Thank you for the comments and we’ll have to keep an eye out for each other on the road 2019! Thanks, Peter.
